Conference venue

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC)
1 Convention Centre Place, South Wharf 

Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre is located on the south bank of Melbourne’s Yarra River in South Wharf. Entrance to the centre is via Orrs Walk, Clarendon Street or Convention Centre Place.

Getting to MCEC

On foot

MCEC is a short stroll across from the Melbourne CBD connected by many walking and vehicle bridges, the closest being Seafearers Bridge and Clarendon street. There are many hotels within walking distance from MCEC.

By bus

From Monday to Friday, bus route 237 runs via Southern Cross Railway Station to Lorimer Street, from this stop it is approximately 5 minutes’ walk to MCEC. 

By train or tram

Southern Cross Railway Station is the closest train station. From exit of the station on to Spencer street, connect via tram 96, 109 or 12 to arrive at MCEC in minutes. Tram stop 124A Casino/MCEC is the closest tram stop. Routes 70, 75 and City Circle also reach stop D5 on Flinders street where a short walk up Clarendon Street will connect you to MCEC.

By car

24 hour parking is available at MCEC with entry via Normanby road (Exhibition Centre Carpark), corner Siddeley and Flinders’ streets (Siddeley Street Carpark) or Normanby road and Munro streets (Freeway Carpark). 

Taxis and ride share services

If you are being dropped off at MCEC, ask your taxi or ride share driver to drop you off at the Convention Centre Place entrance. There are taxi ranks located at Crown Casino, Clarendon Street entrance and DFO, Convention Centre Place.

Uber operates in Melbourne for transfers to and from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport as well as trips around the city. Taxis are readily available from Silvertop Taxis (Ph 131 008) and 13 Cabs (Ph: 132 227)

Airport Transfers

Skybus operates regular services for airport transfers between Melbourne Tullamarine Airport and Southern Cross Station, 24/7. Tickets are $19.75 one way, per adult or $38 return, book online to save. Limited connections are available to CBD Hotels from Southern Cross station.

Star Bus Shuttle offer airport transfers to Melbourne hotels. One way transfers per adult are from $20 one way, $40 return. Book online or call 03 8378 8700.

Driving to MCEC from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport

Driving time: About 30 minutes (depending on traffic)

This route incurs tolls, there are no cash booths – visit citylink for toll payments within 3 days of travel.

  1. Follow Airport drive out of the terminals and turn right at APac Drive (signs for Tullamarine Fwy/City/state Rte 43).

  2. Continue on Citylink M2 for 22 km and take exit 2, signs for State Rte 30/City/Montague St.

  3. Follow signs for Lorimer St/Docklands/Sth Melbourne and merge onto Lorimer street.

  4. Continue through to Convention Centre Place.
