RSA Health Equity Award 

Awarding a nephrology team or individual who has demonstrated a deep understanding of the diversity and differences in our communities to address health inequalities for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Island, Maori and Pacifica patients.

Nominations:

  • To be eligible, the nominee must be a current financial member of the RSA. 
  • By submitting the online nomination form, you agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  • Self-nominations for individuals or teams are accepted. 
  • Nominations are required to respond to specific questions relating to the award, including:
    • What was the problem you were trying to solve?
    • What was your solution, initiative, approach or project you implemented to promote better health outcomes for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Island, Maori and/or Pacifica patients?
    • Please tell us how your work has assisted Aboriginal, Torres Strait Island, Maori and/or Pacifica patients and their communities achieve better health outcomes.
  • Supporting documents can be provided on the form.

Selection:

Nominations will be reviewed by a Judging Panel comprising of three RSA Life Members (as appointed by the Board).  Each award judge is required to declare any conflicts of interest and treat all information provided as confidential. 

Each nomination is scored by the award judge against pre-determined assessment criteria and response weighting, arriving at an overall score.  The RSA Office collates the judges' scores to arrive at the highest cumulative score to identify the recipient of the award.  Should there be a tied result, the RSA President will make the final selection. Award recipients shall be approved by the RSA Board.
