Birgit Munro Dedication to Practice Advancement and Innovation Award

An award for an individual’s innovative solutions, practices, or initiatives through contributing to or leading research, education or project.  These endeavours offer a point of difference that has a positive impact on the renal community through the long-term improvement to the lives of people with kidney disease.

Nominations:

  • To be eligible, the nominee must be a current financial member of the RSA.
  • By submitting the online nomination form, you agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  • Self-nominations or nominations from members are accepted. 
  • Nominations are required to respond to specific questions relating to the award, including:
    • What was the problem the nominee was trying to solve?
    • What was your/their innovative solution, practice, or initiative through contributing to or leading research, study or project
    • Provide an example of how the solution impacted the renal community
    • Long-term, what kind of improvement do you or the nominee hope to see in the lives of people with kidney disease?
  • Supporting documents can be provided on the form.

Selection:
Nominations will be reviewed by a Judging Panel comprising of three RSA Life Members (as appointed by the Board).  Each award judge is required to declare any conflicts of interest and treat all information provided as confidential. 

Each nomination is scored by the award judge against pre-determined assessment criteria and response weighting, arriving at an overall score.  The RSA Office collates the judges' scores to arrive at the highest cumulative score to identify the recipient of the award.  Should there be a tied result, the RSA President will make the final selection. Award recipients shall be approved by the RSA Board.
