Using a case study approach to introduce glomerulonephritis (GN), Dr Chembo will explain and discuss:
Dr Caroline Lunda Chembo, Nephrologist, Wellington Hospital, NZ
I am a nephrologist currently working at Wellington Regional Hospital which is part of the Capital & Coast District Health Board. I am involved in general nephrology and renal transplantation. I am also an honorary senior clinical lecturer at Otago University School of Medicine and also a member of the New Zealand Renal Advisory Board.
Even though I practice all aspects of nephrology, I have a special interest in glomerulonephritides. I researched on long-term outcomes of glomerulonephritides in the New Zealand Glomerulonephritis Study which was one of the longest follow up studies.
I graduated from medical school in Zambia and then went on to acquire a Masters of Philosophy in Epidemiology from Cambridge University in 2000. I then did further medical training in the UK obtaining my Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians (UK). I then moved to New Zealand and obtained my fellowship in nephrology in 2013.
