The RSA is excited to announce that nominations are now open for members to join our Board of Directors.
The RSA Board of Directors play a key role in providing strategic direction and are responsible for the overall performance of the RSA. Nominees will ideally possess a diverse range of backgrounds, skills and ideas, as well as a passion for contributing to the future success of the RSA and our members.
The RSA is seeking nominations for three (3) Board Elected vacant positions and one (1) casual vacancy for 12 months. In accordance with our Constitution, members can consider nominating for a director position on the RSA Board.
As an Elected Director, you will be well positioned to influence outcomes and lead the association into the future. Nominations are for a three-year term, commencing at the Annual General Meeting, held on Thursday, 12 June 2025, and concluding at the Annual General Meeting in 2028.
What is the commitment?
RSA Board Directors meet at least face to face once a year and online bimonthly meetings. In between meetings, they are expected to actively contribute on at least one committee which aligns with their skills and interests and promptly respond to matters which arise via email to ensure the RSA meets its mission of advancing the care for people with kidney disease. While these positions are voluntary, all reasonable expenses are covered
Roles and responsibilities:
RSA Directors have a fiduciary responsibility (in other words, act in the best interest for all RSA Members) and will need to draw upon and likely develop existing skills and experience in financial acumen, strategic planning, relationship building, verbal and written communication, policy development, managing risk and more!
Becoming an RSA Director will reward you professionally: it is an esteemed role where you will meet new peers and extend your understanding and appreciation of organisation governance and of renal care across Australia and New Zealand.
Who is eligible?
Financial voting members of the RSA are eligible to apply. Current RSA Board members whose term is expiring may be eligible to renominate, subject to the terms within the Constitution.
We encourage you to consider this opportunity if you possess a broad understanding and experience of renal care across Australia, New Zealand and/or globally, as well as significant current experience in clinical, management and/or academic settings.
Resources and support:
A comprehensive library of Board material, an initial induction and ongoing support is provided to new Board members. Access to resources and online professional development from AuSAE and the Associations Forum are available to all Board Members.
The deadline for sumbitting Nominations was by Friday 18 April 2025 and nominations have now offically closed.
